Codicote Parish Council News Update

It’s not often that the parish council gets the opportunity to sing its own praises, but it is important to highlight to parishioners the good work that the parish council is undertaking on behalf of the parish.

The parish council have formally appointed Andrew Nolan to carry out litter picking in the whole village and Andrew has also been engaged to weed the High Street, but also other streets in Codicote as and when they need doing. The contract to maintain the planters in Codicote has also been renewed, the parish council delighted with the work that Making Life Beautiful have done with the planters.

The play areas in Codicote, at this time of year in particular, become increasingly difficult to keep in a useable state. The parish council are very pleased to confirm that Yvonne Morris, whom the parish council employ as their cleaner, has agreed to take on additional hours to keep all the play areas clean.

Other ongoing projects of significance include the following: –

  • Discussions with appropriate stakeholders for a replacement building for the scout hut.
  • Council is currently putting together a team of people, including a planning consultant, to produce a new Neighbourhood Plan.
  • The parish council has received planning permission for new car park lighting at the John Clements Sports and Social Club car park along with a height barrier at the entrance.

It is also with great pleasure that the council announce the addition of a new councillor, Neil Fothergill, to the fold. Neil will be a great asset and since induction has joined the planning committee.

I look forward to keeping you up to date in the future with all the good work that the parish council is doing on your behalf.
